The shoot has five beats with 34 drives across 10,000 acres and we shoot 52 days per season. Standing nine guns, but will happily accommodate teams of six to ten guns. We hugely benefit from the topography, which produces some of the best top-class partridge in southern England zipping high off the steep banks to test the guns. To the south of the partridge beat, we are equally blessed with near perfect ground to produce best quality pheasants climbing high and fast out from the woods over the valleys across the central part of the Estate. Our drives produce birds of all heights and levels of difficulty, so all guns can enjoy their sport, irrespective of their ability. Needless-to-say, there are birds that beat even the very best of guns!
Situated in the heart of West Berkshire, the Estate covers
10,000 acres of the North Wessex Downs AONB. It is a ten
minute drive from junction 12 of the M4, a 55-minute
drive from central London and 10 minutes by helicopter
from Farnborough or Oxford airports.
Your day starts at 09:00 at the Shoot Lodge with coffee
and a shoot briefing before moving off in our custom built
16-seat Gun Bus. Our primary aim is that you and your
guests have a fabulous, memorable and sporting day and,
to this end, we like to beat each drive very steadily in a
way which allows each gun sufficient time to shoot, re
load, then select their next bird and enjoy testing
