East Riding
Warter Priory is a premier driven game shoot set across 12,000 acres of East Yorkshire, featuring dramatic valleys and ancient woodland. Rich in history, it has hosted figures such as Lord Nunburnholme, relatives of the Duke of Wellington, and Winston Churchill.
Renowned for high-quality pheasant and partridge shooting, Warter Priory offers over 50 varied drives, ensuring every day is unique and challenging. Led by Head Gamekeeper Frank Croft and his experienced team, we focus on delivering memorable, safe, and enjoyable days in a relaxed setting. Teams travel between drives in a purpose-built gun bus.
Shooting is available on a single gun or full team basis, typically offering 300 or 500 bird days with no overage charged. Customisation is available to suit team preferences.
As of 1 September 2022, only Non-Toxic cartridges with Biodegradable Wads are allowed, reinforcing our commitment to sustainability and ensuring all game enters the food chain. Please contact us for availability.
By car, the journey to East Riding of Yorkshire takes around five hours from London via the M1 and M62, about one and a half hours from Leeds, and roughly two hours from Manchester.
Teams meet in the morning for a Full English breakfast at 9am before departing for the first drive in the new gun bus. Drinks and elevenses are taken in the field and shared with all the loaders, beaters, and pickers-up, making it a true team event.
We shoot four drives during the day, returning to the shoot lodge for a meal at 3pm, before departing around 4:30pm.
