Oxfordshire

Tusmore Park is a perfectly located private country estate just a stone’s throw from the world famous city of Oxford and only a short drive from Central London. This extremely exclusive shoot offers only a handful of private days with the remaining taken by the family. Pheasant, duck and partridge are flushed from perfectly situated covers that soar over the gun line in this manicured landscape. Guns arrive at the shoot lodge for coffee in front of a roaring fire where pegs are drawn and we discuss the plan of attack for the day.

Teams are treated to Tusmore’s exquisite silver service lunch in the shoot lodge, where guns can discuss the mornings sport and afterwards take a tour through the ancient park to the final drive. The location of the shoot means it is in within easy driving from a selection of the best boutique hotels which are highly experienced at looking after shooting parties; descriptions of these hotels are available upon request. Tusmore takes 1hr 30mins from Central London by car, regular trains are also available to Oxford and collection can be made from here to the shoot.

Tusmore Park House was replaced in 2000 and designed by Sir William Whitfield.

Taking the M40 North to Bicester, the estate is only 10 mins drive from there.

Pheasant, partridge & duck

late October until the end of January.

The all purpose shoot lodge is at the centre of the shoot day, is it arguably the best in the country and only a few teams have ever seen inside. From there we head out for two drives, stopping for elevenses in the field followed by two further drives and then back to the lodge for a full shoot lunch.

Locally there are some wonderful classic Oxfordshire pubs and hotels, many located in the town of Woodstock. Shooting parties also use Soho Farmhouse at Great Tew or at Raymond Blancs Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons at Great Milton.
