Angus Glens
The Glenogil Estate is recognised as one of Scotland’s premier sporting estates, offering outstanding scenery and exceptional shooting across more than 23,000 acres. From productive farmland to heather moor rising over 2,000 feet, the scale and diversity of the landscape create a truly memorable sporting experience.
Its 17,000-acre grouse moor is divided into six beats and has been carefully managed to establish Glenogil among Scotland’s leading grouse moors. Excellent road access and varied terrain ensure consistently high-quality shooting, with days that rival the very best anywhere in the UK.
Alongside its renowned grouse shooting, Glenogil also offers wolrd-class pheasant and partridge shooting along the moorland edge, presenting very challenging birds from a variety of heights and angles.
Guests can stay in a selection of estate properties, including the beautifully restored Redheugh Lodge, a luxurious nine-bedroom Victorian lodge at the heart of the estate. Additional accommodation includes a two-bedroom cottage, the recently refurbished Bothy with four twin bedrooms, and The Mochrie, two stylish cottages in a secluded moorland setting—ideal for smaller parties seeking complete tranquillity.
Located in the heart of the Angus Glens, the estate offers sweeping views of heather-clad hills, dramatic glens and unspoilt Highland landscapes.
Drive from Edinburgh via the A90 and A928 to Glenogil Estate (about 75 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes). By helicopter, fly northeast directly to the estate, taking approximately 30 minutes, weather permitting.
Once we leave the lodge in the morning we usually stay out all day shooting 4-5 drives and stopping for lunch on the hill in one of the bothys. We will shoot various drives with plenty of variety of location and height of birds to suit all groups.
