Cotswolds

Farmcote extends to just over 2500 acres and is located just above the town of Winchcombe to the west of Stow-on-the-Wold, in the heart of the Cotswolds. The Estate is heavily wooded in the heart of the property with more open valleys to the south and the Cotswold escarpment itself to the west.

This varied topography allows for both excellent partridge shooting over open valleys as well as high pheasants from well sited cover crops and high woodland edges over the Guns situated in valleys below.

Both breakfast and lunch take place in the Estate’s private pub; ‘The Grumpy Dragon’ which is an occasion in itself!

This is a truly special Cotswolds estate with no stone left unturned.

The estate covers some of Sudeley Castle which remains the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within the grounds.

The estate lies between the towns of Stow-on-the-Wold and Winchombe.

Partridge & pheasant

mid September - late January.

The shoot days are all based from the Grumpy Dragon which is the estates private pub. Typically teams meet there and we will shoot 2 drives, followed by elevenses and 2 further drives before heading home for a late lunch. The shoot also boasts a unique fully kitted out gun bus for the team to travelling around in throughout the day.

Accommodation is available locally in some award winning pubs and hotels, including Lower Slaughter Manor, Dormy House and the iconic Lygon Arms.
