Snowdonia National Park
Dyfi Falls Shoot is a wild and scenic shooting estate in the Dyfi Valley, mid-Wales. It is set among very steep wooded hills, river valleys, and moorland, creating a dramatic natural backdrop. The shoot is known for challenging driven pheasant and partridge, with birds flying fast and high across uneven terrain.
A typical day begins with breakfast and a safety briefing before a series of organised drives through different parts of the valley. Guns often face difficult angles and changing wind conditions, making accuracy essential. Refreshments are taken in the field between drives, followed by a traditional lunch featuring local Welsh produce.
The estate is also recognised for its conservation work, carefully managing habitat to support both game birds and native wildlife. This balance of sport, scenery, and environmental care makes Dyfi Falls a distinctive and respected shooting destination in the UK.
Snowdonia is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, recognised for its unique ecology and conservation importance.
Drive from Birmingham west via M54 and A458, continue through Machynlleth, reaching Dyfi Valley in about three hours. Alternatively take a helicopter and land on site, but the unpredictable weather can make this difficult.
The shoot is very demanding and is suited to those who wish to challenge themselves on some of the most incredible drives in the world.

Locally in a number of good pubs and hotels.
