Inverness-shire
Situated on the banks of the River Findhorn, just 30 minutes from Inverness in northern Scotland, Drynachan, part of the Cawdor estate, is renowned as one of the premier driven partridge and pheasant shoots in the World.
Drynachan offers superb shooting with high partridges and fantastic variety between drives, set against stunning scenery. Drives like Red Burn, Daless, and Peat Road are unmatched worldwide. A cherished tradition of the estate is displaying the day's bag at the end (tabla), providing teams with the perfect photo opportunity.
The estate spans 30,000 acres, featuring eight grouse beats and 55 lines of butts. Recent major investments in the moor have made it possible for some teams to enjoy a combination of grouse and partridge days, offering a perfect few days of high-quality sport.
Teams traditionally stay at the comfortable Drynachan Lodge, the heart of the shoot. The Lodge can easily accommodate eight couples, each with their own bathroom, and features a full-time chef and three housekeepers, ensuring five-star treatment for all guests.
The Drynachan beat is part of the much larger Cawdor, which is still widely regarded as one of the greatest of all the Highland estates.
Drynachan is conveniently accessible, being just 30 minutes from Inverness Airport. This makes it particularly popular with teams from Europe, who can easily fly in and enjoy two days of shooting without the hassle of navigating larger airports like Heathrow or Gatwick.
Guns meet for team briefing at 9.30am. The day consists of four drives with the team choosing to shoot through or stop for lunch, with normally a two day hunt. We do a variation of drives from moorland to ancient Caledonian woodland.
Drynachan lodge is available on request and situated in the heart of the shoot and is used by all teams who wish to shoot the beat. Its a beautiful well laid out perfect for entertaining and enjoying with team.
