Gloucestershire, England
1st September - 1st February
Cold Aston is one of the finest shoots in the Cotswolds, spanning over 3,000 acres of rolling countryside. The shoot features deep pasture valleys, offering truly challenging partridge shooting from September onwards.
With more than 30 drives available, Cold Aston provides the flexibility for back-to-back days, allowing the keeper to tailor each drive to suit different wind directions. The shoot is hosted from a newly built lodge (2019), featuring a spacious drawing room where guns gather and an impressive dining room where delicious shoot lunches are served. Elevenses are typically enjoyed in the field during drives, with strategically placed huts ready to shelter you if the weather turns.

The day begins in the purpose built shoot lodge on the edge of the estate. From there most teams head out in the gun bus for the first of two drives. Elevenses are then taken out in the field, followed by two further drives and then returning to the shoot lodge for late lunch.
The shoot lies each side of the Fosse Way which was built to mark the western frontier of Roman rule in Iron Age Britain.
