Amberley Castle

Amberley Castle is a luxury hotel in the village of Amberley, at the foot of the South Downs, in West Sussex, England.

There are 19 bedrooms, each individually designed. Many rooms retain original features like stone walls, leaded or lattice windows, four-poster beds and fireplaces.

The building has about 900 years of history. Once a fortified building (fortifications added in 1377), with curtain walls and portcullis. If you like staying in places with character, this delivers.

It is part of the Relais & Châteaux network, and privately owned by Andrew and Christina Brownsword.
